just back from our local ktm "store" here in pune! well, the bike looks lovely enough for me to say "i want !!" and chances are i will buy the 200 if the finance co. decides to lend me the money. the bike seemed to be pretty well built apart from a few plastic parts that looked very "plastic". no test rides yet but they did allow me to sit on it. so i made the most of it by bouncing on the seat to check the "shocks" and im indian so also blew the horn ..as most indians love to do in a closed , silent , air-conditioned showroom :P . im 6'.2'' and weigh 110kgs, yet the ktm didnt feel small but did feel a little skinny . i absolutely loved the handlebar and seating position and it feels like a mix of motocross & street fighter-PERFECT, since most indian roads are as smooth as dirt tracks and you will be getting into a lot of street fights - for riding like a maniac. the exhaust note is a mix of aggressive , rattly , tinny, but honestly cant say much more after sheepishly revving the engine thrice .... much to the sales guy's displeasure! the horrid rear tire hugger looks horrid. it has to be the first part that must be taken off and thrown away followed by the nerdy looking front number plate, no + marks for the mirrors either, the stalks look too thick with their rubber sheaths and i cant stop wondering how i will solve that problem . the instrument cluster was very interesting but the display quality kept screaming "cheap chinese video game" in my head. i was told 1.30L pune and a wait of up to 90days....lets hope its worth the time and money.

I think even the woman who called up from the Bajaj Probking y'day (since I had registered as a sales prospect)had a clue about the price. Deep down, probably no-one expected 1.17L to be the ex-sho price!
I just hope that Bajaj-KTM have learnt a lesson from Honda and haven't cut any corners here. As for me, I think I'll extend my wait a li'l and see what the 350 is gonna be all about. ;D (Must admit tho that it is extremely hard to not go for the 2oo right away!)

hello bro it seems the wait is over. iam now on doubt whether Rajiv bajaj is visiting your blog as i think he seem to have given D200(baby NUKE)the correct and apt price for average guys like us and seem to be a golden opportunity to buy off these machines before the introductory price go up....go for it asap bro if you got the green...at least i can proudly say my friend owns and rides a KTM duke...expecting a detailed personal review and long term report from your side bro...good luck bro...

Will bajaj be providing service for duke? In kerala there is only one ktm dealer. Which is 250kms away from my city (kochi). When I called up the dealer, the sales rep confirmed that bajaj will take care the service. But I'm not convinced as I dont believe sales rep in general :). Please let me know if you get any info regarding this.

Nice comparison, Payeng. Its going to be the preferred bike among youngsters considering the fact that it has loads of power and has a youth appealing street fighter look. I think Duke has got all the combinations right in favor of the customer.
