The Bike definietly looks good thanks to its R1 inspired full fairing and twin headlamps.

But according to me the rear of the R15 isn't as appealing as the front. That includes the rear tyre which is as wide as the Pulsar 150's tyre.

The international Yamaha R125 has definitely much more modern styling.. and the R15 haqs different body panels compared to the R15..

Its difficult to comment on how the R15 would perform on Road.. though Yamaha Officials have gone on record to state that the R15 would be the fastest bike in India with excellent handling..

My advice to you is that if you can wait for a few more months, then it would be better to check out how the R15 when it comes out on road and then decide if it satisfies your needs (You will surely read its test ride/Review on "The Bike Cronicles of India")..

Meanwhile do take test rides of the Pulsar 220.

Hey Payeng,
i have been reading you blo...

Hey Payeng,
i have been reading you blog since long and i appreciate that you keep up really good work.
Yaar I wish if you could help me a bit regarding my new bike. These days m ownong a H-H splendor(2000 model) and just love my 1st bike i have done few expeditions on my bike in and around city scanning around 450kms. Well this is too much for a 97cc bike with a meagar 7.3 Bhp. well i do more than one could expect from such a small yet splendid machine andi love to worship this piece of Engg. Well i know its so much so yo praise this jurrasic bike but then this is what i feel. Sorry for being soo long but since you are a biker you can understand what i feel. The point i want to make here is that I'm really into what can we say a "Petrol Head".
Well for now, I have saved some money so much so as to buy a PULSAR 220 Dtsi-fi (Around 90K INR) but then since i was not one of the fortunate ones to visit the Delhi Auto Expo-08 and you have had been so i wish if you could help me with some issues.
As of for now i have been evening on the Yamaha YZF R-15 since its launch and tried to mug ever nut and bolt of hers through every nook & corner of the websites to quench my thirst for the best bike my hard saved money can buy since i wont get such an opportunity for atleast another decade or so. So dear if could just ponder on few things as below plz..
1> since I'm of the kind that i would like to go on long expeditions >= 400km i m a bit confused between a road fighter(OR a Cafe racer for a few ppl) Pulsar220 and the Performance racer R15. Though R15 have decent ground clearance of 160mm. So will it make me fall for the Pulsar 220.
2> since you have had an opportunity to see the beauty (R15) in full flesh, So is it worth waiting for R15. Moreover only a handfull of pics are available on the net and from then i could just not get the fact that do those slim(100-80-17)rear and (80-90-17)front tyres do justice to the design.
3>One more issue on the design. Does that full faring is really fabulous I mean if some one has a pic of R-125 one can see how beautifully sculpted it is on the other hand R-15's fairing looks like just fitting every possible size of triangles here and there, so its you who can really comment.
So last but not the least I would be more than just gland! if you could help me choosing my second sole(My New Bike!) So should i Wait for R15 OR pick up the Pulsar 220.
Plz comment since this is my first ever comment on a site and if not then this would break a bikers heart.
regards Pratik

Dude, that's the reason why I said 'wish' ;-)

Dude, that's the reason why I said 'wish' ;-)

Hey Payeng,

You have done Fantastic Job on ...

Hey Payeng,

You have done Fantastic Job on Auto Expo 2008.
