Well, this is the delema. Basically we now all expect a bike to be able to be riden when we want. Not when the bike decides to do so.
The old adage abot getting a British bike means getting a british hobby rings home. RE India has done amarvellous job in fixing the bad stuff from the UK but it is time to move on. Many of us want old styling with new technology. RE offers this now at last. The old modells will sell until the emissio regs shut them down.
This is it folks. No more whining. The facory offers great retro models and aftermarket foreign exporters offer even more (eg Cafe racer version and trials style). Nice going RE.

Now RE just stop the collusion with your foreign agents and let us expats in India buy our bike here for later repatriation to our home countries. Just like we can do in Europe

Nice review. it's good to have a new 500 from RE. however, only last month i bought '99 500 CC city. I already have a '97 350 Std as well.

Royal Enfield Classic 500 EFI (not Bullet Classic) to be launched in India, for India in November 2009.

- UCE 500cc EFI engine
- Same styling as export models
- Custom made MRF high quality tires
- Test ride at Rider Mania 2009 at Goa, Nov 17th - 20th.

The bike will be unveiled for India around second week of November 2009. There is no clear news however on when exactly the bike will reach customers. Will provide more news as and when I have it.
